LOST: Is Ben Dead?

LOST has been great these last few episodes, but I’m wondering if I missed something tonight? Did Ben die, or what are they doing floating him off in the ocean? He didn’t look dead when he was floating out there, anyway.

The Amazing Race and why CBS sucks.

Man, The Amazing Race: All-Stars premiered tonight, and I was excited about watching it, as The Amazing Race is one of my favorite shows. I’ve posted here before about me screwing up and missing shows, and it’s usually my fault. Well, thanks to friggin CBS, I missed the last half of The Amazing Race tonight. Damnit. I want to break something.

Why did CBS cause me to miss the last half? Because the damn show started at 8:30pm instead of 8pm evidently. Why? I don’t know, I suppose the Daytona 500 or some shit was on? I haven’t even checked to see why. I’m not a NASCAR hater, I like the sport and it’s heritage, I just don’t give a shit about watching it. However, missing The Amazing Race pissed me off.

So, why didn’t I just watch the whole show, even though it started late? Because I recorded it, and I started the recording at 8pm, ended it at 9pm assuming The Amazing Race was over, not knowing that CBS screwed me over.

Why did I record it instead of watching it at 8pm? Because I had other crap to do at 8pm.

As I said, it gives me an urge to break something. It brings to mind the Limp Bizkit song “Break Stuff” which, regardless of what some people say about Limp Bizkit, that song should be required on most playlists, it’s a very versatile song and can be applied to many situations from minor annoyances to seriously traumatic experiences.

“24″ Chloe O’Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub) authentic AUTOGRAPHED card

Mary Lynn Rajskub Autograph

I bought one on ebay a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was kind of neat that 24 has their own “trading card” set out, and randomly inserted into the packs are autographs of the stars. I didn’t buy any packs, I just bought the card by itself. I gotta say though, I think she’s trying to be like Prince with her signature, haha, seriously, that’s nothing more than a squiggly line! Here is a link to another one that ends in a few days. And here is a list of other ones including “buy-it-now” options so you don’t have to bid, you just buy it and be done. And yeah although I said the autograph kinda looks like a squiggly line, have no fear because below here I’ve included a scan of the back of the card, with the authenticity guarantee! Oh and check out the A&E store for 24 Seasons 1-4 DVD Set and other 24 DVD’s, these DVD’s will probably also be collectors items one day.

Friday Night Lights: potentially great show, stupid storyline

Friday Night Lights has the potential to be a great show, but their current storyline is racist. They are portraying the black football players as being really stupid. You would’ve had to have seen the episode that started it all. Here is my previous Friday Night Lights blog entry. Anyway, they are continuing this week to make one of coaches appear to be racist, and are putting words in his mouth. This week they press the point and say how he made comments about “black guys being better at xxxx, and white guys being better at xxxx”.

The problem with that is, HE DIDN’T MAKE THOSE COMMENTS! He simply said “guys like Matt Serenson” and “guys like Smash Williams” or something like that, he NEVER implied anything racial, it was the reporter that did that.

But of course, the coach is made to publicly apologize for words he never even said. LOL. What a crock of shit.

Furthermore, they made the star black player of the show appear very ignorant because in response to the coaches apology, the black player in question said “yeah, but those are just words”. WTF? OF COURSE THEYRE JUST WORDS! Now, lets think about what the black player is also protesting.. thats right, WORDS! But the writers of the show have made the character too dense to realize his own hypocrisy. Words were strong enough to “hurt” the black player, but “words” are not powerful enough to express the coaches apology.

And the irony of the whole situation, is the coach NEVER SAID the “words” that he was quoted as saying.

Dog: The Bounty Hunter SEASON 3

Dog The Bounty Hunter DVDs! ShopAETV.com

This guy is a great character, and a real life character. Regardless of what some people might say about the mulletted bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman, I think he’s done the world a favor simply by catching that rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico a few years ago.

Anyway, I just watched the Dog The Bounty Hunter: The Best Of Season Three DVD, which features 8 episodes picked out personally by Dog as his favorite shows of the season. You get to ride along through Hawaii with Dog and his whole crew which include his wife Beth, brother Tim, and sons Leland and Duane Lee and watch as they take down dangerous criminals and even have to come to terms with arresting some of their own friends. The show also gives a look into the personal lives of Dog The Bounty Hunter and his family. That’s one of the things that make the characters likeable, I think Dog is genuinely a good guy. He tries to give positive advice to the criminals he has to arrest, and he seems to treat them with kindness as much as possible.

The DVD also features a still photo gallery, with some great shots of Dog and his crew. I know he got in trouble in 2006 for going into Mexico and capturing that rapist Andrew Luster, and I really hope that Dog suffers no consequences for his actions. Dog The Bounty Hunter did the world a favor by putting that scumbag away, and Dog The Bounty Hunter deserves better than to be arrested by his own government on behalf of Mexico.

RIP Anna Nicole Smith – dead at 39 years old

Biography: Anna Nicole Smith DVD

I was surprised to hear Anna Nicole Smith died, although I guess I shouldn’t be too shocked about it, considering the problems she seemed to have. She’ll be another “Hollywood Legend” in the sense that she died at a young age, similar to others in the past such as Marilyn Monroe of course, Elvis, James Dean, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Belushi, etc.

As for Anna Nicole Smith, people are already buying up her memorabilia on eBay.

I guess the worst part of the whole deal is for the little baby she had not long ago. What happens if neither one of the dudes that are claiming to be, really are the father? Either way, I’m sure the baby will be taken care of, but will probably just have a lot of tabloid articles and stuff like that to remember his/her mom with.

Argh! I missed the new episode of LOST!

Actually, I got the first 17 minutes of it, for whatever that’s worth. I’m still pissed though. Due to the fact that I record almost everything to watch at a later time, I had LOST on to record and when I just went to remove the tape (yes, I still use a VCR for recording) I noticed the VCR had been turned off. :(

Yeah, I know I could probably find the episode online somewhere, but it’s still a bummer that I missed it. Oh well.

Friday Night Lights on NBC

This is a great show, and I hope it stays on the air. It actually reminds me of my high school days, even the head coach of the football team is kinda similar to the coach at my old high school. Tonights episode was a little bit annoying though, one of the main plot lines was for one of the coaches to have made a dumb remark that was misinterpreted as racist, after being prodded by a television reporter. The comment the coach originally made was completely harmless, but the reporter kept pressing and putting words in the coaches mouth until the coach finally did sound a little bit stupid, but still not necessarily racist.

Anyway, the show ended with the black football players refusing to play, and walking off the field. I guess you would’ve had to see the show to have an opinion, but I just wondered if the show will continue with this small part of the plot, and whether or not they will ultimately portray how the original comment was completely harmless, and if the football players refused to practice because of it, then they are being ridiculous.

I just enjoy seeing how Hollywood gets their social messages broadcast on television. :)

So CBS cancelled “Armed & Famous” after 4 episodes.

Damnit, I enjoyed those 4 episodes. Oh well, I guess there is enough other crap on TV that I can watch, after all, I didn’t even notice it was off the air until someone mentioned it to me. But yeah, I kinda enjoyed the “celebrity cops” which featured Erik Estrada, LaToya Jackson, Trish Stratus, that dude Wee Man from Jackass (Jason Acuna), and maybe someone else, I don’t remember. Supposedly, they were “official” police officers in Muncie, Indiana.. but I wonder how much of the actual police academy they completed. Also, the crimes they were called out on were not really the most dangerous crimes if you know what I mean, but it was still an entertaining show, so maybe some network like TVLand or something will pick up the “lost” episodes.
